MORE THAN JUST RESCUE

Imagine a Los Angeles where dogs and cats in need find loving homes.  That’s the future we’re working towards at
The Amanda Foundation.

In Memory Of
Jacqueline Catherine Reich

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jacqueline C. Reich on May 10, 2026 in Los Angeles, California.

Anyone who adopted a cat or kitten from The Amanda Foundation over the last 20 years had the pleasure of meeting Jackie.

She had a smile that would light up the whole room when she entered.

Moving from New York to L.A., she found her passion volunteering at the Amanda Foundation. Jackie was an essential member of our board of directors working tirelessly on all aspects that it takes to keep a non-profit running.

She loved working with our cats and dogs. Soon she was in charge of rescuing and finding permanent loving homes for our cats.  Jackie gave countless hours bottle feeding kittens through the night, socializing cats that needed extra TLC, and nursing the ill and injured back to health.

In New York Jackie had held positions with Calvin Klein, Revlon and Estee Lauder and her flair for fashion added elegance and style to all Amanda’s events.

Jackie gave her whole heart to every single cat or dog she encountered at Amanda. Everyone who knew her loved her and she will be forever missed.

She leaves behind her husband of 28 years, Curt Eddy, sister Deborah Reich and brother in law Robert J. Jones.

Donations in Jackie’s memory can be made here or sent to Amanda Foundation, 351 North Foothill Road, Beverly Hills, CA 90210

For over 40 years, we’ve been on the front lines of the fight against pet homelessness, inspiring change through a comprehensive approach to animal welfare.  We are more than just a rescue, we’re the place where compassion meets action for every dog and cat in need.

Breaking the Cycle,
Building the Future

We don’t just rescue animals from shelters – we stop them from ending up there in the first place.

By providing exceptional veterinary care, we help keep pets healthy and happy.  Our Creating Compassion program educates young minds, cultivating the responsible pet parents of tomorrow.  And through our Spaymobile Clinic, we bring free spaying and neutering services directly to communities most in need.  Now that’s what we call making a difference.

Our Impact

Veterinary Hospital

We're proud to be the only animal charity in LA with a full-service veterinary hospital. Here, rescued animals receive the expert and compassionate medical care they need to thrive while helping fund our lifesaving programs.

Spaymobile Clinic

We're on a mission to end pet overpopulation in Los Angeles. Our mobile surgical unit provides free spay/neuters to areas that need it most, helping to prevent overpopulation and reduce the strain on shelters.

Rescue + Adoption

Since 1976, we’ve rescued thousands of dogs and cats from city and county shelters around LA, finding them loving homes. Each adoption not only transforms the life of one pet but also makes room for another in need.

Education Program

Our Creating Compassion classes build connections and spark a love for animals. Kids learn responsibility and have the chance to discover their dream career in veterinary science.

Make A Donation, Save a Life

1.5 million. That’s the number of innocent animals euthanized in shelters each year. It’s a statistic we refuse to accept. With your support, we can rewrite their stories.

Every dollar you donate goes towards life-saving medical care, vital spaying/neutering procedures, and educational programs that build a future of love and responsibility.

This is the look of love.
