Rescue

Give a new leash on life.

For over 30 years we’ve been rescuing dogs and cats from city and county shelters around Los Angeles and finding them loving homes. The reality is that the city of LA has 6 animal shelters, making it the largest shelter system in the country. LA has the perfect storm for too many animals. We have a beautiful climate with no cold winter when animals cease breeding, an urban geography that has wide open spaces, and it’s big – like 44 square miles big.

Mix that with a portion of the population that is either irresponsible about spaying their pets, or don’t have the knowledge or opportunity for spay/neuter, and you end up with what we have: 6 animal shelters all full to capacity.

For that reason, we exist. We are a safe haven for homeless dogs and cats, and they receive the care and love they deserve, as well as the medical attention so many so often need while in our facility.

The dogs and cats at the Amanda Foundation are looking for their furrever homes. If you are considering adoption, our orphans would love your consideration. We are committed to the #adoptdontshop principle because we know hands on that the most loving, cute, totally photogenic and often already potty trained pups and cats come from the shelter.

This is the look of love. Join the “I Rescued” family, and give one of our adoptable dogs or cats their furrever home. Here are some of the many successful adoptions we’ve fostered.
